Too often, but understandably, the word "cancer" brings to mind images of weakness, sickness and death. For women, breast and ovarian cancers can be particularly fearsome: One out of eight American women has breast cancer. Ovarian cancer is hard to detect and the deadliest of gynecologic cancers.
