Feb. 1, 2012 - Erivedge (vismodegib) was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration this week for the treatment of adults with basal cell carcinoma, the most common type of skin cancer, and should be available in pharmacies within two weeks. Senior citizens are at high risk of these cancers.
