Detroit Lions families stand up to cancer
Ricky Sandoval, security director for the Detroit Lions, battled pancreatic cancer for more than three years before succumbing in July 2009 at the age of 49. Sandoval willfully hung on, battling daunting odds: pancreatic cancer is so aggressive that the average patient dies within months of diagnosis.
