Woman died years after radiation treatment
Radiation damage caused by lifesaving cancer treatment more than 25 years ago has been partly blamed for a woman's death, an inquest in Rochdale heard. Carol Florence O'Keefe, aged 62, died in Rochdale Accident and Emergency department on July 26, 2008 after developing severe bedsores at home. This type of bedsore occur when there is extensive tissue destruction to muscle and bone.
